Karşıyaka
Karşıyaka is a large residential district on the northern side of the bay. It has a long seaside promenade and a shopping street. Ferries connect it to Konak and Alsancak, and İZBAN and tram lines run through the district.
Alsancak
Alsancak is a central and walkable district next to the Kordon seafront. It has many cafés, restaurants and shops, as well as the historic Levantine houses. It is connected by metro, İZBAN, tram and ferry. Streets near the seafront can be lively in the evenings and at weekends.
Konak
Konak is the historic centre with the Clock Tower, the Kemeraltı market and the main ferry pier. It is a transport hub for metro, tram and ferries. Some streets are busy during the day.
Bayraklı
Bayraklı is the business district with modern high-rise buildings, located between the centre and Karşıyaka. Accommodation here is usually in newer buildings. İZBAN and bus connections are available.
Güzelyalı and Balçova
These quieter residential areas lie west of the centre along the seafront. They are connected to the centre by metro and tram. The area has parks and a seaside walking path.
